Exemplary Camp Health Leadership Award

This award is created to identify exceptional camp health leadership. This leadership may be demonstrated  through collaboration, commitment to a camp healthcare cause, impact within the camp community or service.  

CRITERIA:

The Camp Health Leader might display the following qualities:

  1. Exhibits the ability to connect and develop relationships that support a high level of trust and credibility.
  2. Demonstrates clear and concise communication skills guided by compassion and empathy.
  3. Demonstrates systems thinking by effectively managing change through partnership, collaboration, and positive communication.
  4. Empowers, challenges, and inspires others to reach their highest potential and motivates others through practice and values.
  5. Effectively leads to achieve results that align with the mission of the camp in a fiscally responsible manner.
  6. Supports the community or profession through time, talent and/or resources.
  7. Acts as a strong advocate for the camper, staff, and other stakeholders.

NOMINATION PROCESS: 

To nominate for the award, the submission must include the following information:  

  • Cover page, including the name of the Camp Health Leader nominee.  The nominee’s name should not appear in any other part of the nomination.  
  • Nominators Name, role, and contact information (Self-nominations allowed) 
  • Narrative of the individual being nominated for the award that includes a one-page summary of the leader’s activity, intent, and/or outcomes. 
  • Endorsement Letter: Attach up to two (2) letters of endorsement from individual(s) who have benefited from the health leader’s efforts (Not including the nominator).  
  • Send your nomination information as one PDF document no later than December 31st of each year.

AWARDING PROCESS: 

The nominations will be reviewed by a team of camp health professionals.  Determination of award winners will be completed in the December-January timeframe.  

  • The individual selected will be notified directly by the Alliance for Camp Health Leadership.  
  • The Camp Health Leader Award Winner will be featured in CompassPoint (ACH Publication) and will be honored at the ACH Symposium. 
  • The winner will receive a memento and a $200 reward to use toward participation in the national ACH symposium.
