Alliance for camp health
The Leading Authority in Camp Health
For over four decades, ACH has been invested in creating healthy camp communities. ACH is a national member-driven organization resourcing three distinct communities at the heart of camp health. We lead innovative efforts, generate relevant resources, and design evidence-based research oriented programs to improve the provision of care in all summer learning experiences.
ACH initiatives within the MESH(+) arena work in synchrony, building upon the mental, emotional, social health framework, with practical implications for creating a safe environment for individuals and communities. Initiatives include CampWell, and MyView Digital Empathy with Tickit Health. Explore the additional MESH resources ACH provides to support healthy camp communities.

Elevating Care Weekly Edition 47 |The Emery Major Folk Parody About Ticks That, Well, Caught On
If you’ve spent any time outdoors this spring and have a sense of humor about it, you’ve probably already heard “Tick Season.” Singer-songwriter Emery Major took Noah Kahan’s aching folk hit “Stick Season” and turned it into something that’s equal parts funny and painfully relatable, swapping out heartbreak for the very specific dread of finding a tick on your body. We tracked him down to talk about the song, the response it got, and what it’s like to accidentally become the voice of everyone who’s ever done a sock-tuck.
Elevating Care Weekly Edition 46 | Bat Capes for Elevating Care: A Summer Utility Belt
This week we’re sharing a collection of practical resources to support you this summer, from communicable disease management and tick prevention to allergy protocols and mandated reporting. Elevating care is a team effort, and having the right tools close at hand is is helpful, like cargo shorts or a utility belt.
Elevating Care Weekly Edition 45 | Fight the Bite: Tick-smart Strategies for Camps and Families
As warmer weather returns each Spring and we prepare for the start of the summer camp season, tick activity rises sharply across the U.S. and stays high well into the back-to-school months. These are the same wooded, grassy, and brushy spaces where campers, staff, and families spend much of their time, which means ticks often show up as unwelcome visitors. Because ticks can spread illnesses like Lyme Disease, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, ehrlichiosis, and Alpha-Gal syndrome, early awareness and prevention are essential for anyone enjoying time outdoors

The Time is Now
We must improve the provision of care for summer. Regardless of age, gender, or background, we believe every individual plays a role in offering care, being inclusive, and helping to create a space where all belong. We at ACH are committed to seeing this become a reality, one care team at a time.
Let me just take a minute to say thank you for all your work on behalf of camps during the past two years. It has felt nearly impossible to figure it all out at times and you and the team continue to be a guiding light.
Elevating Care Weekly is a newsletter from the Alliance for Camp Health that supports our community with research, science-backed evidence, and resources to build ecosystems of positive youth development. In each issue we’ll explore insights on mental health, leadership, connection, and clinical care designed for professionals whose everyday efforts build belonging.
