Fight the Bite: The research obtained and education materials created in the first year of this initiative will be developed in collaboration with medical providers from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention who have an interest and specialization in vector-borne conditions, and Clemson University faculty with expertise in the study of health issues impacting youth and staff participants.

The Centers for Disease Control is committed to preventing tickborne diseases across the nation and collaborates with partners to communicate how to effectively prevent tick bites. CDC consulted on and applauds the Alliance for Camp Health’s Fight the Bite initiative to prevent tickbites. With tickborne illnesses increasing nationally, working together to promote education is key to the prevention of tickborne diseases.

Looking ahead to 2025,  Year 2 of promoting tick safety!

Camps promoting tick safety: Year Two allows additions to the program to ensure safety and education for summer programs. This includes further implementation of educational content developed in Year One, the creation of a new Caregiver Education Tool, and a Transition of Care Kit.
