Innovation in Camp Health Practice Award
The Innovation Award is for achievements that promote excellence in camp health services. Contributions may include a significant role in the implementation and effective delivery of a highly innovative idea with outcomes that promote a healthy camp community.
CRITERIA: In selecting the Innovative Award winner, the following criteria will be considered and may be described or expanded upon in the nomination process.
- Out-of-the-box-thinking: Does this innovation represent out-of-the-box or cutting edge thinking?
- Enthusiasm: Has this innovation led to a new product or idea? Does it have the potential to be widely shared with camps to support their efforts?
- Impact: Will the innovation bring change and/or improve the outcome for those being served at camp? Is the innovation practical and sustainable?
- Affordability: Can the innovation be done affordably? Can it and/or should it be scaled up? Does it reduce costs?
Examples of innovative contributions might include; but are not limited to:
- New way to perform health activities
- Partnerships to promote well-being
- Staff activities to promote health for self or others
NOMINATION PROCESS: To nominate for the award, your submission must include the following information:
- Cover page, including the name of the innovator(s). The innovators’ names should not appear in any other part of the nomination.
- Title of the innovation, and date submitted
- Nominators Name, role, and contact information (Self-nominations allowed)
- Overview of the Innovation: A one page summary that adequately describes the innovation, outcomes or benefits with sufficient detail that anyone reading it will understand the innovation.
- Endorsement Letter: Attach up to two (2) letters of endorsement from individual(s) who have benefited from the innovation (Not including the nominator).
- Send your nomination information in one PDF document no later than December 31st of each year.
AWARDING PROCESS: The nominations will be reviewed by a team of camp health professionals. Determination of award winners will be completed in the December-January timeframe.
- The individual selected will be notified directly by the Alliance for Camp Health Leadership.
- The Innovation Award Winner will be featured in CompassPoint (ACH Publication) and will be honored at the ACH Symposium, held in February.
- The winner will receive a memento and $200 reward to use towards participation in the national ACH symposium. If the winner is a group, the financial award may be divided between group members.
