  • Rooted In Relationships: Cultivating Conditions Where All Youth Thrive  Ben Houltberg, PhD, LMFT, Executive Director, Search Institute
    • Search Institute’s Rooted in Relationships model builds on decades of research about the critical importance of strong developmental relationships for young people’s growth, learning, and success in life. Using this model, we can work to overcome barriers that are getting in our way to create relationships with all young people.

  • Traversing Complex Emotions: Evidence and Stories from Summer 2022 Barry Garst PhD, John Hamilton, MA
    • Since the onset of COVID-19, researchers have expressed considerable concerns about the state of our individual and collective well-being. Studies suggest challenges across all generations. Given these trends facing the camp community, the Alliance for Camp Health surveyed camp health care providers and directors to provide clarity on next steps and discoveries to reshape our future.

  • What we Learned, and what we didn't, from ACA's National Camp Impact Study Laurie Browne, PhD
    • ACA is wrapping up 5 years of research with campers, staff, and caregivers, all focused on the lasting impacts of camp.  This question led us to many more questions, all of which gave us new insights into what happens at camp to foster lasting learning (for campers and staff), how lasting outcomes support young people in school and early careers, why working at camp is the best and the worst job in the world.  We talked with families about the constraints they navigate to send a child to camp, which gave us new insights into the journey to camp, and how that journey is far more difficult for some than for others. In this session, we’ll share what we learned, what we didn’t, and what this means for you.

  • Because I Said I Would: The Importance of Keeping a Promise Alex Sheen, Founder, Becuase I Said I would
    • This session will out the importance of keeping a promise and the value of the spoken word. During this session participants will be able to revisit the importance of truth and trust in the process of developing relationships with others.
