Thanks for your post. I am sure there are nurses who can share what has worked at their camp. I want to share that an important feature of a quality healthcare staff is that they are not fatigued. We want you to get rest and relaxation that benefits you and your team the best. When fatigue sets in, we make poorer decisions, we forget important tasks, and we don’t communicate well. All three lead to a storm of errors and misjudgment.
I don’t know that anyone can tell you what is best for you and your camp as we don’t know your operations or structure. In most camps, the first thing in the morning and last thing at night are their busy times. Finding some downtime in the middle of the day for each of you may benefit you for the long haul.
