- Camp Health Care Practices Within the Context of Covid-19: Benchmarks from the Summer of 2020 Speaker: Dr. Barry GarstDescription: This session will address findings from ACN’s COVID-19 Camp Health Care Practices study and learn about the impact of nonpharmacologic interventions (NPIs) on health and wellness at camp. Results and implications will be shared to support camp health services for 2021
- Preparing for a Different Health Services: Considerations for CareSpeaker: Phil Hackmann RN In order to create a positive camp experience we need to mold expectations, safety guidelines, and support services to manage individuals in community-based setting during times of communicable disease. This session will outline key activities needed prior to the start of camp such as pre-screening; education of campers, families, and staff; health services adjustments, and much more. Our hope is that this session will help you begin to consider the variables of importance as you plan for summer camp 2021
Testing in a Time of COVID: Considerations for Camp Practice

As the landscape of COVID-19 testing continues to shape and shift, camps are beginning to think about testing strategies for Summer 2021. This workshop will review current tests for COVID-19 and review their strengths and limitations. Participants will also learn about current best practices for COVID-19 testing in the camp setting, and discuss the role camp nurses in testing administration and interpretation.
